Current methods of assay for the analysis of interferon and its related substances involve the use of HPLC techniques. Therefore, we need to develop a highly specific, quantitative analytical methods. A simple and reliable method for quantification of interferon by capillary zone electrophoresis was demonstrated and evaluated. The uncoated capillaries were selected in this study. Several analytical parameters, such as pH, buffer concentration and voltage were examined. The results showed that the optimal condition for separation of this peptide product was high pH and high voltage with borate buffer concentration at 100 mM. The recovery under the above condition were 98.5%. In addition, the linear correlation of the standard curve and the analytical reproducibility were also acceptable.
