Since supercritical fluid id low viscosity, low surface tension, high diffusibility, ease of solvent regeneration, energy saving, sensitivity to all process variables and non-toxicity (for carbon dioxide), it has received much attention as one of the new separation technologies in the specialty-chemicals, food processing, pharmaceutical and petroleum industries. The supercritical carbon dioxide is utilized to extract perilla seed oil. In order to find the best operation conditions, the extraction efficiency of perilla seed oil was investigated at pressure from 200bar to 350bar, and temperature from 313.15K to 313.15K.
