The construction industry has been criticized for its lack of application of emerging technologies. However, in recent years this trend has been changing. A greater demand for more cost-effective and schedule-efficient projects has led to new project delivery processes, which often exploit integration and automation technologies. The primary objective of this project is to lay a foundation for determining uses of technologies on projects pertaining to project size and impact of technology utilization on different types of projects. The study proposes a metric that can be used to characterize levels of application of technologies on different sizes of projects and to better understand barriers to advancement and needs for improvement. Project technology findings are presented by project task---both automation-type tasks and integration-link tasks. Project cost and schedule performance findings are also presented and relationships with technology usage are discussed.
